Atlanta Passion Play

Doctors, Doctors! Today was the day for Doctor
appointments for me. I went to see my Internist
this morning to have my blood levels checked. A
few years ago I had some serious problems and have
to make sure that things are okay especially before
heading out of the country again. I should know the
results in a few days. I also received a vaccine, a
prescription for Typhoid medication to be taken
before I leave and a prescription for an antimalarial
drug to be taken before, during, and after returning
from my trip to Honduras.

After lunch I went to see the Chiropractor. If I get
regular adjustments it really cuts down on the number
of headaches that I have each month. I had a herniated
cervical disc in 2001 and sometimes have problems with
my neck. I haven't been able to go in for a month
and I have had a headache all weekend so I decided
that I needed to go. My Chiropractor and her assistant
are the sweetest ladies ever!!

Tonight I will be bogged down in paper work and bills
my least favorite thing to do.

Mark and I just spent a wonderful afternoon visiting
with a family from Bangladesh. They served us some
Bengali rice and eggs with cucumber, tomato, and lettuce.
Tomorrow is the Mom's birthday so I took her a present
and card in a gift bag. I bought a beautiful blue scarf,
the kind that they wrap around their head for prayer.
They are moving this week. We have become very close
over the last 8 months. I will miss them. Her sister's
family will be moving into their apartment. The mom
wanted to give me something. She said, "I want you to
remember me." I didn't want to take it but she gave me a
beautiful leather purse made in Bangladesh with a Bengali
towel and wallet for your -Taka- money. She insisted that
I have it. It was the purse that she came to America with
one year ago today! Before we went today, I prayed and ask
several people at church to pray, that I would be able to
give them a Bengali Bible. I purchased it online several
months ago and have been waiting for an opportunity to
give it to them without causing insult. Yes, Yes, Yes,
they took the new Bengali Bible and did not seem offended!
They even ask me how I had been able to get them a Bible
in their language. PTL!!!

Today we are busy. We are watching Lianka and Ondrej. It
is so good to see them. We haven't seen them since May 22.
We are having alot of fun playing.

Tonight we are having a mega birthday party here at our
house celebrating Sharon and Danielle Spears birthday's,
my nieces, and David and Deborah's birthday.

Had a great day today with Bennett out in Clarkston.
I got to visit with several of the ladies and saw lots
of the children. The children are so sweet and many of
them run to me each time I am there and give me big hugs.
We did some planning for the start of the school year. The
afterschool program starts back with school but we are
actually starting children's choir back next week and are
planning on meeting twice a week. We have been ask to
bring the children to sing at some churches and programs
so we need to prepare.

Tonight we enjoyed a great program of worship from the
Student Choir at First Baptist Atlanta. The choir got
home yesterday from a choir tour in Chicago where they
sang at the Salvation Army, a girl's and boy's juvenile
detention center and a children home. Over 90 people made
decisions for Christ as a result of their trip. WOW!!!!
The music was awesome tonight. I was so proud of the choir!
I am really glad that Sarah was able to be a part of this
event.
