This morning Leah, Deborah, and I took Hannah to work,
went to the bank, and post office, then headed over to
Clarkston to work at the Apartments. I met Lisa North
another child of David and Kathy North who are FBA Faith
Promise missionaries. I have already been working some
with Ian and Ruthie North and Eric North. Ruthie had her
jewelry class this morning for refugee ladies. The ladies
are making jewelry to sale to help supplement their
incomes. We observed the class and I was able to meet
some of the Mom's and children. Leah and Deborah helped
with feeding lunch to the low income kids at the apartment.
We also sorted donated clothing and shoes into boys and
girls piles so that they can be distributed later.

I got a call last night from a sweet lady at Azalea that
needed help. I went over to Azalea Place this morning at
8:15am so that I could take her to FODAC- Friends of Disabled
Adults and Children,to see if they could fix her wheelchair.
We just had a series of problems. She couldn't get in my
truck. The chair was very heavy. Her son and I couldn't lift
it, but we finally got it loaded with the help of some of the
Chinese team that is working at Azalea this week. I had her call
FODAC to let them know I was coming. When she called them it
seems they had changed their policy. We couldn't bring the
chair until she called for an appointment next week and then
they can't get her an appointment until July. We unloaded
the chair with the help of a Hispanic resident. Well she can't
get around even in her apartment without a working chair. I
had to go to First Baptist Atlanta to pick up pink envelopes
for my mission trip today so I decided to see if the church had
a chair she could borrow. God was good!! Pastoral Care had
2 chairs available. Only 1 of them had removable sides. I
signed some paperwork and loaded up the chair in the truck.
I took the chair back over to Azalea and her son and I got
her set up. It's not the best chair for her but at least she
can get to the bathroom.

Since I was in still in Chamblee at lunch I picked up some
Chinese take out and went and met Rachel for a late lunch.
She is house/dog sitting this week for her employer. I hadn't
seen her since I got back from beach camp. We had a good
Mom daughter lunch together! I was very tired this afternoon
so I took a 2 hour nap so I could get re energized for another
day tomorrow.

I had an appointment this morning with Mary Gellerstedt
at First Baptist Atlanta. I had a call that my little
girl with poison ivy was worse so I left the church and
went over to Azalea about 11:00am. I took them downtown to
Hughes Spalding Children's Hospital next to Grady to be
seen. They prescribed an oral steroid and topical steroid
for her poison ivy. Mom kept asking if it was a virus. I
tried to explain to her that it came from a plant. They did
get her on the phone with a Bengali translator so I hope she
understood everything. When we left the hospital I took them
to Walmart to get the prescriptions. The I flew home because
Sarah had class tonight.

I woke up feeling really bad this morning. I had a
terrible headache and had some nausea. It was one of
those mornings where I didn't get sick but maybe I
would have felt better if I had. One of the kids at
camp had nausea and vomiting so I don't know if I
caught a little bug or something. I went back to bed
for a nap this afternoon for about 2 hours. I slept
through lunch. When I woke up I had some chicken
noodle soup and crackers and then felt a little better.
Leah, Deborah and I went late over to Azalea Place to
check on the kids. There was a team from the Chinese
Christian Church and the kids were having a great time.
We went over to check on a young Mom who has been sick too.
The baby is really growing. We then went over to teach
English at the Bengali apartment. Their daughter was
bed with a rash. I checked her out and think she has
poison ivy all over her face. Her face was really swollen.
She said she had played in the woods on Friday.
We left and went to the drugstore up at the corner to
purchase some Calamine lotion, Benadryl, and
children's Tylenol for them. I wrote down the directions
for the Mom and Aunt and went ahead and applied the lotion
and gave her some medicine. I also gave then the name of 2
clinics just in case she gets worse.I made sure they had our
phone numbers. I will go back Wednesday to see if she is better.

Sarah and I returned last night from Beach Camp with
about 230 youth and adults from our church at First
Baptist Atlanta. We went to Destin, Florida. The
weather was great! I went as the Nurse for the trip
but I also was a condo leader for a group of sweet girls.
I really didn't want to go. I even told Maclane that I
didn't want to go, but I felt that God was telling me to
go, so I decided if God was telling me to do it then Camp
was exactly where I needed to be! Dr Stanley says, "Obey
God and leave all the consequences to Him." I have to say
that I was TRULY BLESSED from having been there! I know
beyond a shadow of a doubt that being in the center of
God's will for your life is so very important. When He
calls you to a task He will equip you, He will teach you,
and He will bless you you for being obedient to Him.
