My Life Verse

Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

The Great Commission

Matthew 28:19-20 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Wilson Family Picture

Sunday morning we had a family picture made by my brother
Danny at First Baptist for our prayer cards and for
the missionary wall at church. I think it turned out really
good.

Last Weekend of the Atlanta Passion Play

I am going to attempt to get caught up on blogging. I got sick
during the last weekend of the play. We still had a great time
living the life of Christ on stage at the Civic Center. Mark,
David, and Hannah were able to see the play Sunday afternoon.
It was a little strange for them to watch it instead of being
in the play. Hopefully many peoples lives were changed as a result
of the Passion Play!

Kids, Kids, Kids

Today at The Falls we had kids coming
out of every corner. We had 2 new
children who were brought by a worker at
the school. Apparently their Mom thought
they had been coming to our after school
program but in reality they were lying
to her. We hadn't seen them before. The school
worker and friend explained that they were
not doing well in school. I told her that
we would help as best as we could but that
she could look around the room and see that
we didn't have enough volunteers to work
personally with each child. Today we had 5
worker including my 2 children and myself
to work with about 50 children.

Yesterday we had 6 new kids- 4 preschoolers
and 2 school age. At our program we have one
big room that we all meet in. It can get very
noisy. We are praying that God would provide
us with more space.

Much Needed Rest

The past few weeks I have been so very busy with all
the stuff for my apartment as the new mission director.
I have been burning the candle at both ends and it finally
caught up with me. Thursday evening I had some pretty severe
stomach pain. I had been taking some Zantac for a few days.
I added liquid aloe juice and crawled into bed because I
could hardly move. Sometime during the night I woke up with
a severe headache. I was afraid to take anything for fear
I was developing an ulcer. When I got up I took more liquid
aloe ate a light breakfast and finally took something for
my head. I spent the majority of the day with my head
on the heating pad. My stomach still feels bad but I am
still drinking the aloe juice. Maybe it is all the Mexican
food I have been eating. I had alot to do but had a kind of
forced day of rest. We all need that sometimes!

Birthday

Yesterday I celebrated my birthday. It was a great day
filled with many good wishes on facebook, lunch with my
Mom at Red Lobster, hugs and love from my family, and hugs
and birthday wishes from my kids at the apartment!
In reflection, it was on my birthday 3 years ago that I
received the letter of acceptance from North American
Mission Board that I had been approved as a MSC missionary.
I remember getting a phone call when I was driving in Atlanta
from one of my daughters saying Mom you have a letter from
NAMB. I told them go ahead and open it and tell me what it
says. I got the great news in the car and remember saying
Praise God what a birthday present. Well last night on
my birthday I found out that my church had approved me as one
of their full time missionaries and will now be giving me
monthly support. Wow, another great birthday present from God!

We had a great time at the apartment yesterday. The weather
was wonderful so we helped the kids hurry with homework,
postponed childrens choir until later in the week when it is
suppose to rain and took the kids outside to play- soccer,
frisbee, and jumping rope. They had a blast!

Block Party and Planning Dinner

Today we had a Block Party at The Falls.
Crosspointe Church came out and led the events
for our residents. They had a live Latino band,
an inflatable slide, face painting, balloons,
games, and of course food. 9 people prayed to
receive Christ today 2 of the people were a
couple from India.Wow, Wow, Wow!!! It was
great meeting all our partners from Crosspointe.
They did a wonderful job! They teach the ESL classes
at the mission each week.

Tonight I had a leadership meeting for The Falls
at our house. I spent the afternoon cooking
homemade macaroni and cheese, chipolte chicken,
homemade guacamole,homemade tortillas, a pound
cake, and brownies. I also cheated a little
and bought a confetti rice salad from On the Border.
We had a great time of food, fellowship, prayer
and planning.
