My Life Verse

Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

The Great Commission

Matthew 28:19-20 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

The last 9 days have been a whirlwind. The Wilson family
left on Sat. May 23rd for Myrtle Beach SC for a family
vacation. I can't tell you the last time we really had a
vacation. We are usually going to see someone or do something.
Mark's parents let us use their time share. It was a 2 bedroom
condo on the beach front. David's girlfriend Ruth cam along so
we had 9 people. The weather was great. We only had showers one
morning. It wasn't too hot or too cold but perfect. The only
bad thing for me was I was sick with a horrible cough the whole
time. I suppose I am the only one who came back without a
sunburn.

The 2nd day there was a tragedy at the beach when a 16 year old
boy drown in the fast current. The Coast Guard was flying over
in several helicopters and police were driving up and down the
beach for 2 days. They never found him. It reminded me that life
precious and none of us knows how long we will be on earth.

The day before we came home Mark and I went to eat lunch. Our
waitress was Alla. She was a beautiful 22 year old girl from
Russia. I enjoyed talking with her and giving her my testimony
in Ukrainian. We were able to leave her with an evangecube tract
in Russian and my NAMB business card. I love the way God brings
people into my life!

When we got home yesterday afternoon, I was surprised to discover
that one of the mission workers in Clarkston at the apartment we
work at had been stabbed this week. Thankfully she will be okay.
Once again I thought about God's purpose for me to proclaim the
gospel, not because it is easy, convenient, or even necessarily
safe, but because God called me to do it!! Leah said, "Mom I guess
what we are doing at the apartment is working." I said yes the devil
is trying to slow us down, to stop us.
"FOR OUR STRUGGLE IS NOT AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD, BUT
AGAINST THE RULERS, AGAINST THE POWERS, AGAINST THE
WORLD FORCES OF THIS DARKNESS, AGAINST THE SPIRITUAL
FORCES OF WICKEDNESS IN THE HEAVENLY PLACES."
EPHESIANS 6:12
Then the aposle Paul says Put on the full armor of God and
STAND FIRM!!

Today, was the last day for my home childcare business. It was
a sad day full of mixed emotions. Lianka and Ondrej are going to
start at the daycare where their parent's work. We have had Lianka
for 3 years and Ondrej since January. We will miss them and their
family very much. Lianka had become one of my little girls. I loved
to sing with her and tell her about Jesus. Benjamin's last day was
today as well. We have had him about 20 months. He is a precious
little boy and I will miss his waves and hugs. Thank you parent's
for allowing the Wilson family to love your children and take care
of them!

Tuesday all the children were sick and stayed home. We are
trying to get ready for vacation so we had a work day! I ran
alot of errands. All work and no play is never fun so Leah,
Deborah, and I decided to go to Stone Mountain in the afternoon.
We climbed the mountain. It was a beautiful day. The temperature
was perfect. On top of the mountain is was very, very, windy
though and we almost got blown away. Everything was shut down on
top because of the wind. I met a sweet lady named Ava on the way
down. She use to help train home heath care nurses.
Monday evening Mark and I headed over to Chamblee to Azalea Place Apartments.
We were running late because Lianka - 3, one of the children that I keep
was running a fever and I didn't want to leave her with Sarah. Now Sarah
was able to care for her but I am the RN that they have hired to take
care of their children so I felt it best that I stayed. We got to the apartments
late and most of the kids were inside.I went up to see the family from Bangladesh.
It seems it was not a good night for them either. The Mom's brother in law
was in the hospital. We chatted for a few minutes. I left her English lesson so
she could work on it later. I told her that I would pray for her brother in law!

Sunday evening we went to the Fetner's House for the annual Fetson dinner.
Ruth started this tradition a few years ago. She is a great cook. We
really enjoyed the wonderful homemade Italian food. Lydia and her husband Mike
were unable to be there, they live in Ohio, and Hannah had a previous engagement.
We had lots of laughs and good fellowship. Thanks Ruth and John and Beverly for
opening your home to us!

It seems I am always playing catch up. This past weekend was a little crazy. I
got sick with a stomach virus. That really got me behind in what I needed to do. Sunday we went into the youth department at FBA to celebrate Sarah's graduation.
They had the youth choir and ensemble's singing and then recognized all the graduates individually. It was very nice. A funny thing happened on the way to
church after we stopped at the apartment in Chamblee to pick up a family. We were
stopped at a redlight at Peachtree Industiral Rd when we noticed a young man
waving at us and trying to get our attention. Mark said Cathy,"Roll down the window"
which we did. The man said you wouldn't be going to First Baptist Atlanta would you. We said yes, do you need a ride and he did. He had been waiting on Marta for over an hour. It turns out that he is in the college dept at FBA and knows our older kids.
He said he had been praying for a way to church.

Today we had Spencer, Lianka, and Ondrej. Leah and Deborah have been busy finishing up their school work for the year. This afternoon we went and picked up pizza for the choir kids. It was our last day until after summer break so we wanted the children to have something special for choir today! We are planning on starting choir back before school starts back after we break for a few weeks. The afterschool program is done until school starts. There will be a feeding program for 2 months and special events like an academic camp, VBS, etc. for the kids at the apartments this summer.
