My Life Verse

Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

The Great Commission

Matthew 28:19-20 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Yesterday, Sarah and I headed over to Chamblee. The sweet baby is doing nicely. I got to hold and love on him for about 30 minutes. I plan on taking Mom and baby out on Saturday afternoon. They have been cooped up for while now. The baby is 6 weeks old now so I think it is okay to get out with them. Sarah and I also went by to see the Bengali ladies. We had a nice time of fellowship with them. One of the ladies has been hesitating to do more English classes. She says it is hard. Hopefully next week we can start back with actually doing lessons although they do need to listen and speak which is alot of what we do when we go by. They actually can read and write English just not speak it well or understand the spoken language.
Tim looked at my camera for me and said he thinks it is gone. He is trying to get me another one. Thanks Tim!

Sunday we had a great dinner after church with my family at Red Lobster. It is a crowd of people when we all get together(15 in all). Sunday afternoon Mark and I went to the Atrium a retirement center by Georgetown Shopping Center in Atlanta. My Dad was preaching the Easter sermon. I went along to share about local missions in Atlanta. I gave a short testimony, then I demonstrated making a dog with a balloon. I ended by singing "My Jesus I Love Thee." Dad preached a great sermon. I tried to get some pictures but my camera has been acting up all weekend. I guess it is time to start looking for a new one.

Saturday Mark and I went over to Clarkston to help with the Easter egg hunt. We had a great time with the kids. We saw some of the kids who have quit coming to the afterschool program and invited them to come back and to come to choir. Chris Britt's Sunday school class from First Baptist Atlanta came and helped and so did some people from Smokerise Baptist. Chris(Jesus in this year's Atlanta Passion Play) read the Easter story to the kids. At the end he gave an invitation. There was a huge response from the kids. Many went forward and prayed the prayer to accept Jesus as Savior. PTL!

Wednesday evening we had Ian North and his wife Ruthie and Eric North come to First Baptist Atlanta. First we all had dinner in Faith Hall. Bennett Ekandem and one of his students were able to join us for dinner. It was a good time of fellowship sharing about ministry. We all work together so it is good to know what everyone is doing and talk about what is going on and how we can help each other. The North's came to talk to our children's choir about growing up as missionary kids. Ian and Eric are the sons of David and Kathy North, missionaries with Team to the Philippines, and the grandsons of Ian and Dorothy North, founder of Ambassadors of Christ International(www.afci-usa.com). Ian told a story about almost being bitten by a cobra which the kids loved. Eric and Ian taught the kids a song in Tagalog. They also shared about their work here with refugees. Ruthie has stated a refugee beading program - teaching women how to make jewelry so they can generate some income. It was a great opportunity talking with the kids about being missionaries right here where they are.

We finished up the Atlanta Passion Play on Sunday. It went very well this year with over 18,000 people attending. 50% of the people had never attended the play before. There were many who came because of the "No Seat Left Empty" fund. We had international students, prison ministry, women's shelter, refugees, and of course over 400 soldiers from Fort Benning. WE may never know the numbers of all the lives that were touched from seeing the Passion Play but God knows and I know that it has made an eternal impact.

We had a great afternoon with the kids in Clarkston. There seemed to be less children today. They have been doing testing, CRCT, all week and spring break is next week. We also were hurrying to get them home today since bad weather was expected. Bennett had Wes Faull there to film the children singing. He has been filming all week so that Bennett can update his ministry website. Mark, Leah, Deborah and I were all interviewed as well. On the way home, we stopped by Madina's- an African restaurant, to order some take home food. Tonight, I enjoyed a good meal of goat, beef, rice, and injera bread.
