My Life Verse

Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

The Great Commission

Matthew 28:19-20 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

I returned from Honduras last night. We had a great trip
despite the fact that I was sick the whole time and actually
made almost everyone else sick. I am slowly getting my voice
back and the coughing has almost stopped.

We had a great time ministering in the Limpera Mountains
to the Lenca Indians, an indigenous group, above the town of
La Campa at a small village named Santa Teresa. We worked
with over 400 children for VBS. The men put a roof on
the much needed new church building. The old building, which
they had outgrown, will be turned into a feeding center for
the children. The children are feed an enriched rice casserole
3 times a week. Until now they have had to eat outside year
round.

The people were really wonderful to us. The Pastors wife
feed us 2 times a day. The amazing thing was that she walked
4 hours a day to feed us. The men of the congregation really
took ownership of their new building and turned out to help
every day. We would not have completed the roof without their
help. The people have no running water,(we used an outhouse),
no electricity, and no heat or air conditioning but they are
happy and they love the Lord.

As always, it was a wonderful experience and we were blessed
beyond measure. Words cannot really express what happened on
the trip but I am so grateful to a Mighty God who allowed me
to be a very small part of this mission. GLORIA DIOS!!!!

Yesterday Leah, Deborah, Mark and I had a great time in
Clarkston. First we helped with homework. Then we had
younger kids and older kids choir. The children are doing
great. When I got home I ran some errands and finished
all the newsletters. Right now about half are being sent
by email and the other half in regular mail. It takes us
about 8-10 hours a month the get them done.

I am getting sick which is not real good since I am leaving
for Honduras in the morning. Last night my throat was hurting
bad and my 1st thoughts were I am getting strep. During the
night I could tell it was turning into a cold. This morning
I have pulled out everything- Emergen C, Echinacea, Airborne,
garlic,vitamins,etc.

The story behind one of the great hymns, "It is Well With My Soul"
written by Horation Spafford. A beautiful choral presentation.

Another great favorite song of mine. Celine Dion and Andrea
Bocelli.

One of my favorite songs from the past with 2 well known
singers with 2 totally different voice types: Placido Domingo
and John Denver. You will have to excuse the Chinese writing.
Yesterday we went to Chamblee. I made homemade bread to
take to my Bengali family. When we got there they were
sleeping however so we didn't stay. The Mom seemed
excited to get the homemade bread. We had a nice talk
with one of the boys. We have been trying to encourage
him to get his GED. Right now he is working doing roofing.

This afternoon Deborah and I went to Clarkston to help
the children with their homework. It is a challenge because
there are so many kids and not enough helpers. Today Leah
stayed home because she has a bad cold and cough. 2 African
sisters who are older help the K- 2nd grade with their work.
Deborah helped them too. I had all the 3rd graders and some 2nd.
Bennett was rotating from table to table. Ms Susan had all the
4th and 5th graders in the back room. When all the younger kids
were done, Deborah and I went back to help with 4th and 5th.
Tim and Jesse got there around 5:00pm. Jesse teaches a guitar
class and Tim came in to help the older kids finish up their
work. Tim said a prayer for me and the Honduras team and trip.
We left a little early so I can try and get caught up with
things I have to get done before I leave, like my newsletter.
I leave on Saturday morning for Honduras.
