My Life Verse

Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

The Great Commission

Matthew 28:19-20 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Leah and I had a great time today helping clean
the mission in Clarkston. A group from Smokerise
Baptist was there helping out. They come every month.
We deep cleaned the whole kitchen. Leah and I washed
and dried ALL the dishes, pots and pans, baking sheets,
tupperware, etc by hand. All the cabinets were wiped
out and reorganized. The windows were cleaned,
counters scrubbed and the floor sweep and mopped.
We walked over to Kristopher Woods which is one of
our apartments we work with to see the school supplies
being given out by another church group helping out for
the day. I saw several of our "kids" picking up supplies.

A great delight at the end of our day was listening to one
of the young African men from Liberia play the guitar and
and sing 3 songs for us that he had written. One song was
called Freedom Fighter and it told about what happened in
his country and how his grandfather had told him to not
forget and to tell what had happened there. Deep insight for
an 8th grader but so many of these kids come from turbulent
circumstances in their past.I am so proud of him. Jesse, Tim
Cummins son has been teaching him guitar every Tuesday.
Thanks Jesse for making a difference in his life!
